Feldwerke secures €12M financing and advances 100 MW Agri-PV expansion

Feldwerke secures €12 million from French debt fund for the construction of a 100 MW agri-PV portfolio over the next 18 months
Feldwerke, a developer and installer of agri-PV systems honored by the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, headquartered in Munich, announces the successful close of its first major debt financing. Through a revolving credit facility of €12 million, a French debt fund specializing in renewable energy provides the capital to realize Feldwerke’s ambitious construction portfolio of approximately 100 megawatts (MW) within the next 18 months.
COMPANY MILESTONE
Founded in 2023, the company has already successfully installed 20 MW of agri-PV capacity in just two and a half years – including the largest agri-PV installation in southern Germany in Oberndorf am Lech. With the close of this financing, Feldwerke enters a new phase of growth: the revolving credit facility enables the company to finance and execute multiple construction projects in parallel, as completed installations are connected to the grid and the credit line replenishes accordingly.
The financing structure is deliberately tailored to Feldwerke’s business model: the flexible credit facility enables agri-PV project delivery to be scaled, bringing the company meaningfully closer to its goal of 1 GW of installed capacity by 2030. Feldwerke is currently developing a portfolio of approximately 50 projects with a total capacity of more than 400 MW – establishing the field of the future for a green European energy sovereignty, resilient agriculture and a livable planet for generations to come.
This financing marks a significant milestone for Feldwerke – and a clear signal that institutional investors have recognized the potential of agri-PV as a forward-looking form ofland use. The revolving credit facility gives us the flexibility to execute our 100 MW portfolio swiftly and capital-efficiently. We are very pleased to have found a partner who shares our long-term vision and accompanies us on this journey with the right financing structure.
Nils Kuchenbuch, Managing Director Feldwerke
USE OF CAPITAL
The capital available from the credit facility will be used exclusively for the construction of agri-PV installations. Feldwerke currently has a construction portfolio of approximately 100 MW, to be realized over the next 18 months. The projects areat various stages – from final planning to active construction.
Revolving credit facilities are particularly powerful instruments in infrastructure finance: once a completed project is handed over to long-term project financing or connected to the grid, the line becomes available again for the next undertaking.
Feldwerke can thus deploy construction volumes well in excess of the total facility size and scale itsgrowth in a capital-efficient manner.
AGRI-PV: DUAL USE OF AGRICULTURAL LAND
Feldwerke specializes in combining solar power generation with active farming. In agri-PV installations, solar modules are mounted on tracking structures (“trackers”) over agricultural land. The land beneath and between the module rows remains available forgrowing grain or as grazing land. The company consistently uses single-axis tracker systems that follow the sun’s path, generating not only more energy overall but also feeding disproportionately more power into the grid during the high-value morning and evening hours.
The concept is attracting growing interest from institutional investors, banks and development finance institutions, who view the dual value creation – energy yield and land use – as a strategic advantage over conventional open-field PV.
ABOUT THE LENDER
The financing was provided by a French debt fund specializing in renewable energy. The fund focuses primarily on the construction and development phase of solar energy projects across Europe and has extensive experience structuring construction finance solutions for growing project developers.
